About Us

We believe that producing more than we consume is one of the keys to happiness.

Getting our hands in the dirt and growing a garden is one of the reasons we moved to the country. At first it was a few vegetables. Then it was a few more vegetables and a bed of flowers. Pretty soon it was all flowers. The fresh, unpretentious blooms of our backyard garden inspired us to dream about sharing our flowers, and the joy they bring us, with others.

Through Jessica’s design talents and Andy’s amazing abilities to…move dirt, we started Small Town Roots. Small Town Roots is a flower farm that combines the flowers your grandparents grew in the backyard with new and exciting varieties that will surprise you. We grow more than 100 varieties of specialty cut flowers, including vintage blooms like zinnias, dahlias, snapdragons, sweet peas, sunflowers and many others.

We sell our flowers through our Flower Club, at the farmers market and by the bucket to retail customers, and to florists through Rooted Farmers.

Our story wouldn’t be complete without mention of the furry farmers past & present, Digger, Darcy & Sassy. They love keeping watch over the flowers and only sometimes trample through them.
